So the report has evolved year on year. Could you tell us what's changed in the last year of the report?
Eamon Devaney-Dykes
Sure. We've included discussions with the fund managers of the two sustainable strategies about their investment philosophies and their approaches to sustainable investing. There's also a case study on ESG incorporation, for 2023 stock addition to the Sustainable Global Equity strategy. And we also spoke to the China A Share Fund manager, Sharukh Malik, on the launch of his new fund and his visit to China in May 2023.

And what would you say is your favourite part of the report?
Eamon Devaney-Dykes
Sure. So I think the case studies really bring to light what we say in the responsible investment policy. We also have engagement and voting case studies that divulge into environmental, social and governance areas.

And we've expanded the breadth of our scope three emissions at operational level. Could you provide some insights on how these methodologies have evolved?
Eamon Devaney-Dykes
Sure. So we counted for the emissions associated with hotel stays for the first time in 2023. This is within the business travel category. Collecting this data is now more streamlined within our audit function of the business to improve efficiency for recording this next year, please see our forthcoming TCFD Report, for more information on this.

Could you give us a brief overview of the new initiatives that Guinness have taken part in over the last year?
Eamon Devaney-Dykes
Sure. So we're really pleased to participate in the CDP science based targets campaign, which encourages companies to commit to, and set 1.5 degree aligned science based targets. We now have new representatives on the UKSIF committees with a member on the Membership Committee and another member on the Industry Development Committee. For context, the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association, UKSIF, aims to support its members to grow sustainable and responsible finance in the UK.
